Graduation Convocation

  • NICC Graduation Convocation 2015

    February 2015: The annual Graduation Convocation ceremony of NICC 2015 was held on the 27th of February.
    The event opened by a heart-warming performance of students from the first year of undergraduate programs, Mihika, Joel and Karan. Ms. Smita Kulkarni, Head, Foundation Program, hosting the ceremony welcomed all present. In his welcoming speech, Dr. Akash K. Rose, Director, NICC, spoke of the vision of the institution, emphasizing that Indian Design is now a global presence and NICC's dedication in growwing a design comunity that makes a difference. This was followed by the diploma awarding ceremony for students graduating in their graduate and postgraduate programs specializing in Interaction Design, Retail Design, Photography, Product Design, Animation Production, Communication Design, Advertising Design and Visual Arts. Graduating Students were awarded the diplomas and adorned with a royal blue satin shawl with the NICC hallmark in gold.
    The graduating students were welcomed to share their experiences at NICC, which delivered some very special moments and memories, and hearty thanks to faculty members as well as staff of NICC.
    A musical performance by Samuel, Shrishti, Rayvin, Shivani and Vinod was greeted with loud applause, and a suprise performance by Shashank and Karan got the hall shaking with cheers.
    Mrs. Aleksandra Rotar Rose - Dean, NICC, in her word of thanks to all present students, parents, and friends, remarking on NICC's 10th Anniversay, said that what makes NICC a success is the students themselves - each special and different from another, bringing individual richness to the comunity where everyone learns from each-other - the only way good design can happen.
    As always, the event was also a homecoming for some of the NICC Alumni, all of whom are working as designers in various fields of the industry, greeting each other with hugs, reminiscing their days at NICC.
    The air was filled with pride, joy and a strong sense of belonging.
  • The convocation concluded with high tea on the lawn, and with another aspiring batch of NICCians awaiting their graduation next year.

    February 2014:

    The annual convocation ceremony of NICC India for the academic year 2013-14 was held on the 28th of February.
    In his welcoming speech, Dr. Akash K. Rose, Director, NICC, spoke of the benchmarks and goals of the institution, and its outlook towards design industry in India as a major contributor to design worldwide. This was followed by the diploma awarding ceremony for students graduating in their graduate and postgraduate programs specializing in Retail Design, Photography, Product Design, Interaction Design, Cinematography, Advertising Design etc. to name a few. Graduating Students were awarded the diplomas and adorned with a royal blue satin shawl which had the NICC hallmark on it in gold. The air was filled with pride and joy. A musical performance by Rayvin Rajan, a student of the first year of IGTP Visual Arts, was greeted with loud cheers and applause.
    The graduating students were welcomed to share their experiences at NICC, which delivered some very special moments and memories. There was a common point in everyone’s words, as how NICC had shaped them not only as professional designers capable of taking on the challenges the industry demands today, but also as complete human beings, and responsible citizens ready to take the lead.
    Mrs. Aleksandra Rotar Rose - Dean, NICC, in her word of thanks to all present, said that the convocation was not the end of their journey with NICC, but a beginning of a successful path ahead, where NICC would always stand to support them in their professional life.
    The event was also a homecoming for the NICC alumni, all of whom are working as designers in various fields of the industry, who greeted each other with hugs, sharing memories of their days at NICC.
