NICC Advisory Council
The eminent members of the Advisory Council of NICC are known and respected figures in Corporate and Government sectors.They guide and assist the Institution in a number of ways including enablement of Institution-Industry interaction to help maintain and grow the college curriculum structure to be in keeping with Industry needs and by providing platforms of introduction for deserving graduates to the highest levels in the National and MNC Corporate segment. The Members of the Advisory Council are profiled below:
Mr. Prabhat P. Shukla, IFS, retired as the Ambassador of India to Russia. in April 2011. Before taking up the post in Moscow on 2 October 2007, he was the High Commissioner of India to Australia, and prior to that was the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore. He was also, for several years, Jt. Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He holds a Post Graduate degree in Economics, and is fluent in Russian and French. Mr.Shukla was the Patron of India School Moscow, a vibrant Educational Institution in Moscow catering to the educational needs of the wards of the Embassy of India personnel and Community of Indian Origin. Mr Shukla has guided the course of key industrial policy and relations on a National and International scale. He is also the life-time President of India Club, Singapore, meant to promote business and academic exchange between India and Singapore.
Mr. Shekhar Datta served as President of Confederation of Indian Industries (1996 to 1997), President of Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Indo - Italian Chamber of Commerce. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (September 2007 to June 2008). He is a Non-Executive Independent Director of Wockhardt Ltd. (since February 2000). Mr. Datta served as Director of Industrial Development Bank of India Limited (IDBI), Chairman of Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited until retirement, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) and Crompton Greaves Ltd. He served as Director of Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (June 20, 2006 to June 2008) and as Consultant of International Business Advisory Council of UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization). Mr. Datta has received several special honours namely: He has been honoured with the citation of 'Commendatore' (1995) in the Order for Merit of the Italian Republic, by the President of Italy; as 'Companion' of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, London, and awarded 'Winner' of the Indo-British Trophy (1997) conferred by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. His Mech. Engineering degree is from Institute of Mechanical Engineers, London. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Associations.
Dr. Akash K. Rose, B.Sc.(Hons.1); M.B.B.S.(AIIMS); FCCP; Fel. Applied Technology
& NCERT Scholarship invitee. Dr Rose was a Consultant Scientist, Govt. of India Projects and Member, Development Team, Committee on Science & Technology in Developing Countries (Applied Electronics in Medicine). His many consultancies included being consultant technologist to the Vizag Steel Plant Laser Digitizing Annexe & several Industries. He is currently a Consultant in the field of Cross-Platform Integrated Technology & Digital Imaging, as well as a Referral Physician specializing in Diagnostics. Expertise in imaging led to his parallel career as a consultant expert in Advertising Still Photography & Motion Graphics. Consultancies in the field of Imaging Software, Advertising & Retail Design include corporate clients such as Prestige Entertainment, SKC Group, and Tata Interactive. As a specialist photographer and published writer, his work includes the 6-part Photo Techniques Teaching Series titled ‘ The Art of Macro Photography’ published in 1997, by BP, Tata Donnelley Ltd. and a further 3-part tutorial series titled ‘Macro Photography’. He is an acknowledged expert in 3D Motion Graphics, Digital Photography & DSLR Cinematography. NICC was selected by Canon India to be one of its four prestigious national Pro Centres on the basis of Dr.Rose's connection with the College.
Mrs. Aleksandra R. Rose’s Alma Mater is The College of Fine and Applied Arts (VSLIPU), Belgrade University. She has been a participating guest artist at the 'Q' Group of creative artists, and 'Terra' Art Colony in Serbia. As a practicing designer, her consultancies revolve around domains of Design for Advertising, Interactive Media, and Experiential Design. Some of her past highlight projects include the setup of visual merchandising systems at the flagship store of Champion USA, in Belgrade, Art Direction and coordination of Advertising Design solutions for the first shoppertainment events for Prestige Group, in Bangalore, and Design for Retail Experience project for SKC Group, and has developed digital content for several e-learning modules, of which one was commissioned by TATA Interactive . As co-founder and Dean NICC, her objectives are to focus on holistic and interdisciplinary approaches in Media and Design-related teaching curricula and practices. She teaches History of Art and Design, Styling and Art Direction applied to different creative disciplines. Aleksandra is a recipient of the Kiran Achievement Award for her work in the fields of Art and Education, awarded by Women’s International Network.
